As the weather is warming up, it’s time to beat the winter blues by heading outdoors to get some much needed sunshine. Sunshine has been proven to show that it actually makes us feel happier and healthier.
A few key facts:
- Sunshine cheers you up. It boosts the levels of serotonin in the body which increases the body’s happy hormones.
- Sunlight is naturally healing and boosts the production of white blood cells in the body which strengthen the body’s immune system to fight infections.
- Sunlight will give you more energy
- Sunlight helps you to lose weight as having high levels of serotonin in the body will suppress the appetite so you will eat less during the warmer seasons.
Tip: Head out in the sun for a walk at least three times a week to boost the levels of Vitamin D in your body. But remember to sun safely with an appropriate sunscreen and hat.
