AGE GRACEFULLY: START YOUR WEEK WITH A BREAKFAST RICH IN ANTIOXIDANTS

BERRY LICIOUS FEATURE

Stop making excuses and start being healthy today with a breakfast rich in antioxidants.

Antioxidants are naturally occurring in many fresh fruit and vegetables and prevent and repair damage from the bad guys, called free radicals that can cause cancer and cardiovascular disease. It’s best to stick to fresh fruit and vegetables and not vitamins as research shows that antioxidant supplements aren’t as effective as fresh produce.

Fruit tip: Snack on a kiwifruit. Kiwifruit’s are packed full of vitamins E, C, Fibre and folate and one kiwifruit has FOUR times the Vitamin C of a cup of Blueberries. (Source Body & Soul fact sheet).

BREAKFAST SMOOTHIE

Breakfast smoothieA lot of people are asking me what I eat for breakfast. So I thought I’d let you know! I usually mix what I eat for breakfast up so I don’t get tired of eating the same thing every day. Today I made myself a breakfast smoothie. The ingredients are above. You can use water or skim milk instead of Soy milk. I prefer Soy. I buy everything from Woolworth’s or Coles. The smoothie cubes are by Creative Gourmet and you can buy from any supermarket. You can also find more info on them here.
